South Park is an American animated sitcom created by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. The series began as a pair of animated shorts titled The Spirit of Christmas. The first episode of the series originally aired on August 13, 1997 on Comedy Central,
and began its fifteenth season on April 27, 2011. Comedy Central, who
maintains censure rights over the artistic creativity of the studios,
signed a contract with Stone and Parker, extending South Park to 15 seasons; each new season has 14 episodes.
